4 Piece Puzzle

4 Piece Puzzle is an organ-driven, guitar ladened, sax squakin’ heavy, heady, funk, jazz, dance, rock, & soul ensemble. Blooming from Lake Tahoe’s blossoming music community, 4 Piece Puzzle was born funky and strong and has been lighting up dance floors since its conception in 2010. The band’s original and dirty sound has evolved into a tight fusion of funk and blues laced with a heavy dose of psychedelic rock and jazz punk. With the Wick Star on keys and bass, the Mighty Andy Hatch wailing on saxophone, Martin Bush thumping on the drums and Rippin’ Riff Cassidy on guitar, the sound is incredible and highly infectious. Hailing from such bands as Something Different, Twin Engine, Bison, Sierra Drifters and Groovebox, 4 Piece Puzzle is a super funky group, dirty and gritty just like the south, so tasty even you’re mama will dig and you’re grandpa would want to download.

Randy McAllister w/ The Tyler McCoy Band | July 17, 2014

2002 Grammy Nominee, Randy McAllister is one of the premier singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist to emerge from Texas. Heartbreak, humor, high hair and tall Texas tales all play a part in the song writing of Randy McAllister. His music has been hailed as some of the most original and innovative being made today. While comparison’s are not easy, it has been said that his music is a cross between Doug Sahm, John Hiatt and Delbert McClinton, with a blues man’s background and sensibilities thrown into the mix.

“If Mark Twain had envisioned a 21st century roots musician, he might have created a character like Randy McAllister, with an easy-going persona and a wry, and an observant wit. McAllister weaves material in the singer/songwriter tradition, with nods to a variety of styles. He is one of those rare artists who is able to meld genres such as gospel, blues, country, Tex-Mex, rock and zydeco together and come away with something that is uniquely him.

Arden Park Roots with special guests Island of Black & White (Reggae)

ARDEN PARK ROOTS is quickly becoming a common name in the huge California rock/reggae scene, a scene which seems to be spreading all over the country. It was evident as their tours got longer and further away in 2010 and 2011. Their third full-length album “PIPE DREAMS,” just released in Nov of 2011 is making huge waves as these herbal advocates mix many styles to create a fresh new sound. They have 6 major awards under their belt including the Sacramento shows Local Music Awards called “SAMMIES” two years in a row for “Best Reggae/Rock/Funk band.” They were also just inducted into the Sacramento Hall Of Fame for local artist. Look for them to roll through your town in 2012/2013 as their tour schedule will span all the way to the east coast and possibly overseas! “Relax, it’s a pipe dream.”

Lavish Green Tahoe Family Reunion with special guest Screaming Meg (South Shore)

We are bound for glory, tied together with Family and fastened to music. A number of guys who “do what it takes with the sounds we create” (Fit 2 Jam 99′). Lavish Green, the meaning of a band. The Congress with special guests The Weekenders (Rock & Roll)

Evoking emotions that you thought had long passed – the feeling of your first cigarette, or the way you feel listening to a worn vinyl as it warmly crackles against the sound of a summer night – The Congress is naturally compared to many names and styles of years gone by. But drawing such comparisons is, in many respects, a misguided endeavor. Misguided not because you’d be wrong, but because you’d be missing the beautiful point – The Congress are a natural evolution of more than 60 years of purely American music. With a spirit rooted just south of the Mason-Dixon Line, and now calling Denver – “The Queen City of the West” – their home, they’ve got enough soul, grit, and have spent enough time in the woodshed and on the road to call them pretty much whatever you want. But whatever words you think you need to describe their contribution to the American music tradition – save your breath. The Congress plays Rock & Roll.

40 Watt Hype with special guests TBA (Latin Fusion)

In the center of California, a culture that is the underbelly of LA and San Francisco. from the bass bumping out of the ’84 Cutlass to the backyard fiestas, the music of 40 Watt Hype is created—live Hip Hop cultivated from the seeds of a favorite dusty Soul record with a Latin b side.

Born and influenced by the streets of Fresno, 40 Watt Hype started (out of necessity) at a backyard party by front man Aaron Wall and as soon as the music started, the people danced and embraced this new sound. Wall—songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer—a second generation Dutchman from Holland, grew up listening to a multitude of styles and forms of music, from R&B to Hip Hop to Latin. When you hear and see Wall perform, you can feel the love and influence of the environment he is the product of, breaking stereotypes, as he states, “nothing turns heads quicker than seeing a white boy sing and rhyme in Spanish”. As a kid in Eastside Fresno, he learned to speak Spanish from hearing it throughout the neighborhood and from kids at school, and during high school in Fresno’s urban Westside, R&B and Hip Hop further impacted itself on his musical journey.

Polyrhythmics with special guest Holy Ghost Tent Revival (World)

Original hard-driving, modern afro-beat and syncopated, horn-driven funk. That is the recipe that Polyrhythmics have crafted and delivered to packed clubs, and festival crowds up and down the west coast in the past 3 years. The 8 members of this dynamic world-beat orchestra, weave a clever web of deep, hypnotic grooves, creative, yet melodic interplay, clever horn-hooks, and searing solos that ignite every dance-floor that has laid before them

Founded in late 2010, Polyrhythmics was formed by Ben Bloom and Grant Schroff, who quickly gathered some of the most talented and highly sought-after performers in the North West to record an EP. Using primitive gear, and a “live, all in one -room”, low-budget recording technique, the band captured magic, the very 1st time the record button was pushed. The resulting 6 song EP became a cult classic and quickly sold out at shows. Highlights such as “Pink Wasabi”, and “Klompton” have since been re-released on 7 inch 45 by Electric Cowbell Records and Kept Records and are also sold-out.
