We hope to see everyone out, joining in on all the incredible music we have in store for you this summer!”

Free every Thursday from 4:30 to 8:30 pm, starting June 20th and running through August 29th, Lakeview Commons will come alive with free concerts that showcase an eclectic mix of talent.

This summer, South Lake Tahoe can expect unforgettable performances from artists including Dead Winter Carpenters, Vokab KompanyForrest DayObject HeavyJoslyn & The Sweet Compression, plus many more at Lakeview Commons this summer! There’s something lined up for every type of music lover in this series from Local Rock n’ Roll to Americana, Blues, Reggae, Brazilian Funk, Soul Indie Rock and more served up every Thursday!

Thursday, June 20: Americana

Kicking off the series on Thursday, June 20th with a double dose of North Lake Tahoe talent, Dead Winter Carpenters play into the sunset with Pickle Barrel opening the show at 4:30 pm.

Fun fact – Dead Winter Carpenters were the first band to ever perform into the sunset on the Live at Lakeview Stage! 12 years later, this will be their second headliner performance!

Hailing from North Lake Tahoe, CA, Americana/root, Rock band Dead Winter Carpenters has
built a reputation for pouring their heart and soul into each performance. Over the past decade,
the band has worked hard to position themselves, wrote Portland Metronome, “at the forefront
of a youthful generation trying to redefine what string music is and what it can do.”

“[DWC’s] quick-step, happy-harmony-filled alt-country puts you in the heart of a hot summer day with nothing to do but hear the fiddle move like laughter.” – Portland Mercury

Joining DWC for the season opener is Pickle Barrel, a Truckee-based trio led by multi-instrumentalist Justin Eubanks. Their debut album features poignant Americana songwriting weaved between the lines of bluegrass & western swing that reflect a lifetime of travel, wordplay & musical immersion. They spend their winters playing all over the Tahoe Region, and summers playing festivals across California, Oregon and Idaho.

Thursday, June 27: South Lake Rock n’ Roll

On June 27th, IMJK will take the stage, an all-star group of some of South Lake Tahoe’s finest musicians: Ike Marr, Miranda Love, Jeff Connor and Kristen Stephens.

Opening the show at 4:30 pm, Zero Point Zero make their Live at Lakeview debut.

Get ready to rock out and let loose, there’s a holiday crowd on their way but for today this venue, this stage and this town is ours! Come celebrate with your local musicians!

Thursday, July 4: No Event

Please note that there will be no event on July 4, allowing you, and our crew, to enjoy the holiday festivities with friends and family. Be safe out there!

July 11: Hip-hop, Soul & Electro

Vokab Kompany returns for the first time in 5 years, promising a night of hip-hop, soul, and electro vibes that will have you dancing into the sunset. With their dynamic blend of genres and infectious energy, Vokab Kompany always deliver a performance to remember.

“Vokab Kompany is another act that refuses to be pigeonholed. Two MCs might lead you to believe that it’s hip hop, but that doesn’t begin to tell the story. The sevenpiece band from San Diego played for more than an hour, a set that was at times funky, jazzy, heavy, bouncy, even bluegrassy…And it all made sense. Through it all, the crowd was treated to microphonic gymnastics of the dueling MCs, Rob Hurt and Burkey. The group is legit; see them.”  – Sacramento Press

ROXILVERWOLF gets the groove started at 4:30 pm with a unique sound you’re sure to love!

July 18: Americana

Jimbo Scott & Yesterday’s Biscuits take the stage, treating audiences to an authentic Americana experience, complemented by the soulful melodies of Honey Run.

Jimbo is no stranger to the Live at Lakeview stage, performing solo in 2019 and with a 3 piece string band in 2022. This summer, the band has doubled again as Jimbo returns with an all-star lineup of musicians to form Jimbo Scott & Yesterday’s Biscuits. In addition to the unmatched vocals of Jimbo Scott, the group features Kiels Williams (The Risky Biscuits) on Guitar and Pedal Steel, Andy Merrill (The Risky Biscuits) on bass and Rob Hooper (Carolyn Wonderland, Jimmy Dale Gilmore, Patrick Pike) on drums & two more incredible artists to fill the stage. They are a rising force in the Norcal Americana Scene, not to be missed and best to be consumed with reckless abandon.

Honey Run, opening the show at 4:30 pm is a duo featuring the fiddle player from the headline act accompanied by his fiancé on guitar.

July 25: Indie Rock

Mid-summer, we heat heats things with elements of hip hop and indie rock from Forrest Day. “There’s a lot of hip hop and rock with jazz and reggae. It all pokes its head out in different ways at different times.” the band’s songwriter and lead-man, Day told Music Insider Magazine.

Based out of Oakland, CA, Forrest Day has been performing around the country for almost a decade. It’s a true rags to riches story, but without any money. He’s got a new album in the works, new singles our and big festivals getting booked this year. We’re honored and excited to welcome him back to the Live at Lakeview stage!

What’s sure to be an epic day of live performances begins with the dynamic sounds of VTA – Vincenzo Thomas Amato at 4:30 pm.

Aug 1: R&B, Soul & Brazilian Funk

August kicks off with Object Heavy delivering a unique fusion of vintage style, hard hitting soul with modern funk, gospel and Neo-soul influence for their Live at Lakeview debut! Object Heavy is Humboldt County’s hardest hitting soul sensation. The band is led by the nuanced and powerful voice of Richard Love and composed of seasoned veterans of the West Coast Soul and Funk scene.

“A tight well oiled machine that plays heavy funk and R&B fueled by great songwriting and deep grooves.”-Kelly Finnigan, Producer / Vocals and Keys in Monophonics

The infections rhythms of Boca do Rio start this party with a flavor all of it’s own. Originally hailing from the San Francisco Mission, Boca do Rio is a Brazilian-American samba-funk explosion.

Aug 8: Blues & Rock

Dennis Johnson and the Revelators will serve up Blues, Roots, and Rock grooves with a high-energy, groove-driven, slide guitar tour de force. Their latest album, “Revelation” rose to the top of the Roots Music Report Blues Charts and received stellar reviews, currently hold the #1 spots for Blues Rock Album, Blues Song and Blues Rock Song!

“Slide Guitar Master” – Guitar World

“… a world-class slide guitar plater!” – American Blues Scene

“One of the preeminent slide guitarists of our time!” – All About Jazz

The legendary one-man-band of Tahoe, Patrick Walsh will open the show at 4:30 pm.

Aug 15: Funk & Soul

Joslyn & The Sweet Compression dial up the funk with an electrifying Funk and Soul performance. According to Billboard Magazine, you can expect the performance to be “Magical…gives everybody the joy!”

After cultivating her dynamic voice and performance skills in backup roles and stage plays, Joslyn Hampton teamed up with her stepfather, Marty Charters (a touring guitarist and songwriter who has shared the stage with legends like Junior Wells, Buddy Guy and Van Morrison), to compose a captivating set of tunes and assemble an ace band.

Joslyn & The Sweet Compression combine a next level cast of musicians that combine to deliver a hook-filled mix of funk and soul!

Opening the show at 4:30 pm is South Lake Tahoe’s own, Miranda Love. Born and raised in the mountains of Northern California, Miranda uses her powerful voice to breathe new life into classic covers and connects with audiences through her inspiring and thought provoking song writing.

Aug 22: Reggae & Roots

As summer draws to a close, Lizano makes their Live at Lakeview debut alongside the infectious rhythms of Miki Rae & The Hooligans, promising an evening of super chill, good vibes.

Lizano is delivers a unique blend of what they like to call, Galactic Reggae & Funk Fusion.

Their sound is inspired by its original roots of covering bands like Pepper, Sublime and The Expendables while touring Central America, and is now blended with their own flavors of funk, jazz and rock that inspired them stateside. Lizano is dedicated to bring high energy and positivity to every performance! This is sure to be a show you don’t want to miss!

Aug 31: Cosmic River Rock

Closing out the series, Boot Juice has its heart in Americana songwriting, with a rock’n’roll delivery that always gets crowds moving. They’ve been gaining buzz with their high energy performances and party-sparking reputation.

Local songwriter, Darren Senn opens up the last show of the summer with a solo performance at 4:30 pm.

Entertainment Preview – Scott Pemberton Band + 4 Piece Puzzle

Live at Lakeview has been stacking the lineup this summer with incredible bands, but Thursday night’s double billing of the Scott Pemberton Band and 4 Piece Puzzle might be the most loaded lineup to date.

The heavy funk starts with 4 Piece Puzzle, who have been Live at Lakeview regulars and South Lake Tahoe favorites for a couple years. They have an undeniable groove that finds everyone in the crowd, and fans can be sure this band is going to go hard on Thursday night. Ryan Cassidy (guitar), Martin Bush (drums), Chad Laurence (bass) and Reggie Hall (saxophone) are a great fit together and can deliver everything from dirty New Orleans funk to groove-based jam sessions to unique takes on modern classics, like “Get Lucky.” Come shake your tail-feather with 4 Piece Puzzle.
Scott Guitar 1

Guitar-ninja Scott Pemberton takes the stage afterward. The Oregon native is a masterful guitar player who brings his own unique spin to the table. He approaches the instrument with a child-like openness that allows him to bend and contort the strings however he pleases. His newest release, “Timber Rock” is an all out party that ranges from woodsy sludge on “Prudence” to bonafide groovers “What I Do” and “One Time.” Every show is different than the last, so check out what Pemberton brings to the table Thursday night.

True Tahoe Support | Vendor Love – EEKOE Socks

Socks are like excuses, everyone has them and they mostly stink and wear thin after a couple weeks. Thankfully, you won’t have excuses for terribly smelling feet anymore with Eekoe and its line of durable socks.

Chad Ottenbreit and Mark Gardner have been action sports junkies for a long time now, in and out of different boots on a daily basis. After years of dealing with standard socks that would wear out after a day or two of use, the two decided to take matters into their own hands with their own feet.

Eekoe socks are made from bamboo and are softer and more comfortable than regular socks, being cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. In addition to comfort, Eekoe socks are anti-fungal and also more durable, with the ability to wick away moisture. Throw a couple pairs in your travel bag and your feet will be more than set for the days ahead of you.

Ottenbreit and Gardner are happy to be a part of the Live at Lakeview community and want everyone to check out their tent to try on “The World’s Greatest Sock.” While in store, prices range from $12-$16, Eekoe socks are available for only $10 a pair if you come out to their booth to enjoy the music and community. If that isn’t enough for you, the brand is also 100% designed in California and made in the U.S., making sure your socks are completely homegrown.

Endorsed by bikers, boarders, skiers and other outdoor aficionados, Eekoe socks are sure to pass any test you throw at it.
